More Kendra Commissions

New Kendra Commissions
Here are the last of the commissions I’ll be doing as I gear up for the next big DCV release, which I’ll be announcing very soon. The person who commissioned these images wanted to see Kendra getting some threeway action with Mead and Chad. Obviously, this scenario would never play out in the comic, but that’s the beauty of doing commission projects: seeing characters in scenarios they would never appear in otherwise. So here we have Kendra getting the business from two dudes at once,

Poll – New Nipples for Clara?

So I am going to finally give Clara a long overdue texture update. Her body texture often renders an unnatural orange-ish hue, which I’ve always been okay with for the most part, but have meant to update when I have the time. Since I’m not working on any comic at the moment, I have time to do those little projects I’ve been meaning to get around to, and this is one of them. Don’t panic, however: She will look largely unchanged. I’m going to simply adjust levels in the current texture, and also blend it with a more photoreal one I want to use that has skin blemishes and doesn’t look quite so airbrushed. I will be keeping her face texture the same except with some color variation, as I painted those eyebrows and makeup myself, and I love it. How many CG girls out there have the ‘fuck me’ eyes of Clara?

So I also think it’s time to retire those giant nipples of hers. But that’s just my opinion. Others may disagree. Which is why I’m starting a poll to let your voice be heard!

Comic Con 2013

Comic Con 2013Please excuse me for posting material completely unrelated to Epoch Art, but I am still reeling from the exhausting experience that was this year’s Comic-Con International. For the uninitiated, Comic-Con International (typically just referred to as ‘Comic-Con’) is the single biggest yearly convention based around comic books, movies, television, video games, and toys; held yearly in sunny San Diego California. As a resident of San Diego (and a huge fan of all things nerdy), I am one of the privileged who graciously attends the four day event each year, soaking in the amazing exhibitors’ booths, spot-on cosplays, and entertaining panels.

This year was intense, as I spent many, many hours waiting in line for panels, walking the exhibit floor, buying Comic-Con exclusive swag, and eating at expensive restaurants. It was way too much time to be on one’s feet. I had three friends in town for the event who stayed at my house, so I had no downtime in the evenings either. The whole weekend was a blur of sensory

DCV Contest Winner Announcement

Dynamic Comic Viewer 2.0 Contest WinnerLast November, we announced a little contest to help gather ideas and features you might want in a new version of the DCV (Dynamic Comic Viewer). While many of the ideas were truly outside of the scope of a simple comic viewer (many were geared towards full-motion video, which is not what this software is intended to be), many of the ideas were rather inspired, if not difficult or impossible to implement at this point.

So while I can say that very few of the ideas found their way into the new version of the DCV, which will be uploaded when Dark Rift is released this Friday, we were nonetheless pleased with everyone’s submissions and eagerness to offer up new perspectives on where the software could go in the future.
