Brace yourself, as this post is likely going to ruffle a lot of tailfeathers…
I’ve done the math. My calendar is slated and every day penciled in, but there is literally no way I can possibly expect to complete Clara Ravens Episode 4: Colombina’s Illusion by Christmas, which was my sole intention. Even if I work every single day from now until it is finished, it would be impossible to complete, due in large part to the time required to render out the animated sex sequences (they take a few days to over a week per animation) and the sheer amount of renders that compose one page of the comic, using our DCV image overlay technology.
So this puts me in a bind. The holidays are fast approaching, and time off around the holidays is something I am looking forward to, especially because my girlfriend who has been living with me for over a year is wanting to meet my family. So we will travel back to my neck of the woods in Pennsylvania and see how that goes. It’s a big step.
I’m really not trying to bore you with personal stuff, but the reason I’m mentioning this is because I do want to get something out before the holiday (ideally something I can release mid-December) that will help me offset the cost of plane tickets and holiday expenses. You’ve probably noticed I’ve had a release in December for the last two years. This is simple planning for the holidays, and this year I want to do the same. But CR4 simply isn’t going to make it in time.
Well, I am officially back to work on Clara Ravens Episode 4: Colombina’s Illusion. Thank you everyone for your patience over this year as I pumped out what felt like a dozen dossiers. I am extremely excited to be returning to this comic and even more eager to see it finished (as I imagine many of you are as well). I’ve enjoyed getting back into Barca’s mindset by re-reading the script and using his insanity and rage to pose him in ways that makes his madness and fury shine through in the imagery. I think you’re going to love to hate this nutjob.
I know you are curious about a release date, but the last three or four dossiers should be a pretty solid indicator that release dates are no longer something I offer up. So I am going to work on this hard, at a very steady clip, adhering to my calendar, and hoping to get it out as soon as humanly possible. Keep in mind, the time frame for the comics is always longer as we have sound effects, audio score, animation, and other additional work to do. The comic itself is much more difficult to code due to the image overlay technology used to show action in the frames. All this results in a longer production schedule, so please be patient. I want to give you the best possible product for your money. I promise you it will be worth the wait.
Hey guys, hope you’re enjoying your weekend! I just wanted to drop in really quick and let you know that I’ve been featured all week long at Affect3D, and the week-long feature culminated with an interview they posted today. This is an unprecedented third time being interviewed by their crew, and it was fun to elaborate more on things I spoke about in the past and to also answer some new questions.

Before you go though I’ll just let you know I didn’t submit any new artwork to them, so everything they posted you’ve likely seen before. I am a little irked, however, that I hand selected a sample of good images I feel are representative of my current caliber of work in visual fidelity, yet they went and grabbed some older stuff and posted it in the interview. Stuff that I personally feel isn’t of the quality standard I hold myself to nowadays. But hey, we all start somewhere, right?

In this dossier, Clara researches a mystical artifact but cannot discover its secrets. But inadvertently she manages to trigger the artifact and is transported back in time to Victorian-era Paris where she is the plaything of infamous courtesan Cora Pearl and her longtime suitor Prince Napoléon Bonaparte.
I took my time with this set, most of it spent building these two incredibly detailed sets. Each image took a very long time to set up due to the number of characters and their clothing needing fit sculpts nearly every frame. It was a pain in the ass to have to resculpt tighter fits for Clara’s stockings and corset constantly, and also having to deal with the slow response from working with so many characters wearing poly-heavy clothing in scenes that are already very poly-heavy. Yes, this was a difficult set to produce, but every set has it’s own unique set of challenges and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I hope you enjoy this set. Clara looks so beautiful in that hairdo and I have to say that Cora has quite a remarkable tushy. Pay attention to the information provided in the early frames to better help you understand the dossier, and let me know what you think of the art and narrative below in the comments.
