In other news, Clara Ravens Episode 4: Colombina’s Illusion is nearing completion! Well, at least part one is. But guys, I gotta be honest… I’m considering charging for part two. Part one ends in a cliff-hanger, and is already 175 pages long (composed of over 500 image elements) with two separate sex scenes involving four different characters. Part two will also have two sex scenes with two different characters. It won’t be as long as part one (maybe 50-75 pages), but is certainly long enough and packed with enough sex to warrant a price tag. It would be about as long as a dossier but with even more sex (again… TWO sex scenes). Part one will be the $15.00 USD price tag you’re used to for the full comic releases, but part two will only be $10.00 USD, with a ‘bundle’ released at a later date for a price tag of $20.00 USD. It might seem high, but keep in mind this dwarfs any work I’ve ever done. And, if you’ve been reading my previous blog posts, you know that the comics are going to get considerably shorter… more around the size of part two of this upcoming release… so getting part two for $10.00 USD is a steal since comics will remain $15.00 USD despite getting shorter. If you are wondering how the comics, which will only be the average length of a dossier can warrant a $5.00 higher price tag, don’t forget the bonus wallpapers, bios, 3D turntables, animations, sound effects, and score. Bottom line is that I think these decisions are reasonable from a business standpoint, but I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on the matter in a comment below.

The Ripcord Date

As SDCC steadily approaches (July 8th – July 12) and my income just as steadily wanes, I find myself once again having to add the dreaded “ripcord date” to my project calendar. I was paid out from my other markets for my April sales and things are not looking so great financially. I will find myself in dire straights by the beginning of June, and though my calendar indicates a completion date for Clara Ravens Episode 4: Colombina’s Illusion near and around mid-June, there is absolutely no certainty. The difference between the concrete release dates of image sets and the more elusive dates of comics is that I never know how many pages a comic will be, nor can I estimate just how long setting up an animation will take (could be several hours or several days based on complexity) or render (typically takes days). Quick Teaser

Teaser for Dossier 002 - Wish You Were HereGuys, I am super-excited about what’s coming next. I thought I’d have lots of promotional art to show you today, but the set is taking much longer to complete than anticipated. It is actually built, but I’ve been tweaking textures, bump and spec maps, lighting and lighting effects, and Octane material shaders to get this looking just right. Clara’s Tech Room – Update

Tech Room (w/ Clara) - Clara Ravens Episode 4When you’re as wealthy as Clara, having your super-secret tech room upgraded to a newer state-of-the-art version is easily accomplished. So here is the work-in-progress tech room, nearly finished, that will appear in Clara Ravens Episode 4: Colombina’s Illusion. I’ve included Clara in one of the images so you can get a feel for the size of the room. Those who have read Clara Ravens Episodes 1 and 2 will recognize the majority of the set’s props, but many new ones have been added, and it has been outfitted to just feel more ‘real’.
