Tag: Dynamic Comic Viewer
Last November, we announced a little contest to help gather ideas and features you might want in a new version of the DCV (Dynamic Comic Viewer). While many of the ideas were truly outside of the scope of a simple comic viewer (many were geared towards full-motion video, which is not what this software is intended to be), many of the ideas were rather inspired, if not difficult or impossible to implement at this point.
So while I can say that very few of the ideas found their way into the new version of the DCV, which will be uploaded when Dark Rift is released this Friday, we were nonetheless pleased with everyone’s submissions and eagerness to offer up new perspectives on where the software could go in the future.
July is here, and shit is about to get HOT! We’re making extra-sure the new version of the DCV is stable on all operating systems so we set aside more time for QA than is likely necessary, but we have to allot time for finding bugs and fixing said bugs. So sorry for the wait.
With numerous real life factors over the last two weeks (had to help the girlfriend move, my roommate is moving out so I need to find a new roommate, and did some pro bono graphic design work for a friend) and then factors related to Dark Rift (DCV engineer not being able to get off of work for beta phase, issues with updating the store plugin, and, oh… the comic not being finished), the release date is being pushed back.
Just wanted to share a cropped sample of one of the desktop wallpapers bundled with the DCV-enabled first episode of Dark Rift. Those who bought Clara Ravens Episode 3 Epilogue know that the DCV-enabled comics are bundled with additional ‘bonus’ content, including character bios, 3D character turntables that you can spin with your mouse for 360 degree views, and desktop wallpapers. As with Clara Ravens Episode 3 Epilogue, Dark Rift will have 3 different wallpapers (one of which will not contain blatant nudity, but will be sexy, for those who want to have a wallpaper to safely display on their monitor without suffering the judgement of friends/family) with each wallpaper in 6 different, common monitor resolutions.
Here is a cropped and scaled down version of one of the wallpapers featuring Polly. You can see her teasing you as she climbs up some crates to get to a case waiting on top of a storage cage, but teases you by showing you the goods as she ascends.
