Snack Time!

Here’s your sample frame from the upcoming Dossier 006: Fire in the Ice, featuring Polly “Pixie” Talbish, the young firecracker mechanic of the erotic series Dark Rift, and her pet alien Jester (and newcomer Liam the pilot).

After an explosion in one of the sensor relays simultaneously starts a fire and creates an argon gas leak, Polly manages to extinguish the fire and radio for help before succumbing to lack of oxygen and passing out. In the nick of time, Liam responds to her S.O.S. and manages to cycle the atmosphere of the relay and revive Polly. Having never met Liam before, she is taken by his handsomeness and decides to thank her rescuer like only a woman can. The couple share a sweat-filled, steamy, passionate sexual experience in the confines of the cramped sensor relay deep below the ice.

I’ve been really busy (and stressed out) planning my big birthday celebration in Brazil during Carnival 2015. The trip has already cost me a fortune and I still don’t have my tourist visa because I’m still waiting on my passport. Apparently 80% of people book travel before realizing (or applying for) a tourist visa for the country they’re visiting. And it doesn’t help that I’ve chosen the most expensive country to get a visa to. I am not even sure if my friends and I are going to be able to go. Fire in the Ice – Coming Friday, February 6th!

I’m actually embarrassed to share this image. This picture was meant to be the announcement/teaser image for the new set. But it came out looking like garbage. It is Ember’s Game all over again. Fucking nonsense splotchiness against surfaces from light emitters as well as unacceptable levels of noise. Back when Ember’s Game was released, we were using Octane 1.0. But we’ve progressed to Octane 2.0 and whatever revision it’s currently on, and still the fucking elephant in the room with this software has not been addressed. (See edit at bottom of this post)

I’m gonna let any aspiring 3D artists in on a little secret about Octane: IT CAN’T FUCKING RENDER INTERIORS. Full stop. Period. It can’t fucking do it. It is fucking garbage. Unless you put windows in the room that allow you to get light in the room with their physical sun/sky module or HDRI, you’re going to get results like this. Hot Goat’s Milk!

Welcome to 2015, ladies and gentlemen! I apologize for the extended absence, but I left town before Christmas like a whirling dervish and spent a week just recuperating from the holidays after I returned. I sincerely hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday filled with family, friends, and memories! 2015 is the Year of the Goat, soooo… I guess drink some goat’s milk for posterity? I think that’s how it works. Leg of lamb with hot goat’s milk is the traditional dinner… I think… Don’t quote me on that, though. I let my astrology practitioner’s license lapse years ago.
